CREDIT REPAIR TIP 1 – 3

June 8th, 2010 by Annie Logan

CREDIT TIP #1: If you have a balance over one half of the credit maximum on an account it can adversely affect your credit score.  For example; If the credit limit on your credit card is $5,000, the balance due needs to below $2500.

CREDIT REPAIR TIP #2:  Carefully review your credit report for ANY discrepancies and report them to all three credit bureaus.  Even an incorrect address can negatively impact your credit score.  The scoring system may see multiple addresses as a red flag to an unstable consumer.   Look for addresses on your credit report that belong to the ex- spouse or a child who moved from home.

CREDIT REPAIR TIP #3: Your credit score will improve if you pay more than the minimum payment on a debt.  How much it improves will depend on the percentage paid over and above the minimum payment, higher percentage = a more improved score.
